Hockey Alberta is the governing body for sanctioned hockey in the province of Alberta and a proud member of Hockey Canada. Hockey Alberta is a dynamic non-profit provincial sport organization that has more than 400-member local minor hockey associations and club teams that serve more than 95,000 participants between the levels of U7 and Senior hockey. Hockey Alberta’s workforce includes a volunteer core of approximately 100 and a full-time staff of 32.

Professional Development OPPORTUNITIES
Hockey Alberta allocates financial resources, approves time away from the office, and/ or identifies internal or partner opportunities for staff professional development. The goal is to help staff improve and enhance individual skills and knowledge related to their employment at Hockey Alberta, and to enhance satisfaction and productivity at all levels of the organization.
Employer Contributed RSP
Hockey Alberta, in partnership with ATB Securities, has established an employee retirement savings program. Participation is optional for full time employees upon the completion of 24 months of employment. The RSP program is a percentage-based program where both the employee and Hockey Alberta contribute a defined percentage as per policy.
Service Awards & Recognition
Hockey Alberta shall present gifts and/or service awards, based on years and/or levels of service, to those who have represented Hockey Alberta in a formal capacity as outlined by policy. Service Awards, Departures, Condolences, Get Well, Baby and Wedding are all components outlined in the policy.
Social Club
Hockey Alberta operates a staff Social Club to which employees contribute. The operations and decisions are led by a staff group with all employees benefitting.
HEAD OFFICE
Hockey Alberta’s office is located in the Gary W. Harris Centre at Red Deer Polytechnic. Our boardroom overlooks the ice surface of the arena, and staff have access to many of the facilities available at RDP. Most Hockey Alberta staff are based in Red Deer, however some individuals are based out of regional or home offices.
