U13 AAA Head Coach and Bonnyville Jr A Pontiacs Assistant Coach

In conjunction with Bonnyville Minor Hockey the Bonnyville Jr A Pontiacs are pleased to announce a partnership with the newly formed U-13 AAA program announced last month by Hockey Alberta. The full details of the partnership will be announced in the coming weeks, but the Pontiacs believe in supporting young coaches and their development just as much as the players.

 

Therefore, the Bonnyville Jr A Pontiacs are seeking an individual to fill the position of U13 Head Coach and Jr A Pontiacs Assistant Coach.

 

The successful candidate will be a full-time staff member for the Bonnyville Pontiacs with their primary role of leading the U13AAA program, with a secondary role of assistant coach for the Pontiacs. Below is a list of team specific duties.

 

 

U13 AAA Coach Responsibilities

 

-          Plan and execute all hockey operations for the team.

-          Creation of a development plan for the season which includes an estimated 40 games and 4 practice times weekly.

-          Practices will be during the daytime

-          Off-ice training

-          Game preparation.

-          Player development

-          Bench Management

-          Pre-Scout opposition

-          All on and off ice team structure

-          Working with and setting expectations for assistant and training staff

-          Implement a strong positive culture that will continue to grow the reputation in a positive manner.

-          Work with the general manager to ensure the team is aligned and striving for success of the entire organization.

-          Foster a positive, supportive learning atmosphere for every player.

-          Implementing a code of conduct for all players

-          Recruiting and Player Identification

-          Community involvement of the players and staff year round

-          Work alongside the BMHA to recruit and maintain billets.

-          Assist in all areas of team functions and business operations.

-          Managing and working with all staff, fans, and patrons of the organization

-          Assist in team schedules, bussing, meals, and accommodations.

-          Assist in establishing a strong bond and rapport with all local area minor hockey players and coaches.

-          Ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization

-          Organization of all summer, ID, and selection camps.

-          Establish a positive safe working environment for everyone involved.

-          Help in player promotions to other levels.

-          Assist in other miscellaneous duties and tasks.

 

Jr A Pontiacs Assistant Coach Responsibilities

 

Take a secondary role and assist in the following:

-          Be available for all practices and games schedule permitting.

-          Off-ice training

-          Game preparation.

-          Player development

-          Bench Management

-          Pre-Scout opposition

-          All on and off ice team structure

-          Implement a strong positive culture that will continue to grow the Pontiacs reputation in a positive manner.

-          Work with the Head Coach to ensure the team is aligned and striving for success of the entire organization.

-          Foster a positive, supportive learning atmosphere for every player.

-          Implementing a code of conduct for all players

-          Recruiting and Player Identification

-          Community involvement of the players and staff year round

-          Work alongside the Pontiacs to recruit and maintain billets.

-          Assist in all areas of team functions and business operations.

-          Managing and working with all staff, fans, and patrons of the organization

-          Ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization

-          Organization of all summer, ID, and selection camps.

-          Help in player promotions to higher levels.

-          Assist in other miscellaneous duties and tasks.

 

 

This position requires to be located in the Bonnyville area.

A minimum level of Hockey Alberta Coach Development 1 is required.

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
