Over $105,000 Raised for Every Kid Every Community

Through a series of events held from July 25th to August 2nd including the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame Awards Gala, Hockey Alberta Foundation Golf Classic, and the ATB Financial Golf Classic, over $105,000 was raised for Hockey Alberta Foundation’s Every Kid Every Community fund.

The nine day fundraising spree began with the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame (AHHF) Awards Gala on July 25th at the Coast Hotel in Canmore, Alberta. Thanks to the following donors and sponsors, over $13,000 was raised through a wine pull and silent and live auctions; Hockey Alberta, Calgary Flames, Elite Sportswear, Driving Force, Edmonton Oilers, Western Hockey League, Quinn’s Energy, Alberta Sports Hall of Fame & Museum, Dairy Queen, Western Wallprinting, Can-Pro Training Centre, The Liquor Crossing Wine Depot, and over twenty other auction item donors. Following the AHHF Gala, 19 Hockey celebrities joined together with 125 golfers for the 10th Annual Hockey Alberta Foundation Golf Classic. Celebrity guests in attendance ranged from current NHL stars such as Jordan Eberle and Adam Cracknell, to Olympic icons such as Mel Davidson, to NHL alumni legends including Lanny McDonald and Jamie Macoun. A private reception on Sunday, July 26th prior to the Monday golf tournament was held at the beautiful Stewart Creek Golf Club in Canmore, featuring entertainment provided by a few of the celebrity guests with a Hockey Hot Stove, followed by a live and silent auction. The evening totaled a very generous donation of over $65,000 for Every Kid Every Community, thanks to major sponsors and donors including ATB Investor Services, HyTech Production Ltd., Quinn’s Energy, Hockey Alberta, Vada Capital, Western Hockey League, ATB Financial, and several other team sponsors and auction donors. The series of events wrapped up with a donation from the ATB Financial Golf Classic and PGA Canada Mackenzie Tour at The Links of GlenEagles in Cochrane. During the Sunday, August 2nd closing ceremonies ATB Financial Vice President of Community Initiatives presented the Hockey Alberta Foundation Board of Director’s member Rob Kerr, with a $27,000 donation to Every Kid Every Community as the official charity of the 2015 ATB Financial Classic. Since 2007 the tournament has donated $350,000 to local charities in Alberta.

Thanks to all those who contributed to these events through sponsorship, donations, and participation, more kids in Alberta will be able to enjoy our game through the Every Kid Every Community fund.
