The U16 female provincial camp is the second stage of the development and identification process that feeds Team Alberta U18. Sixty players, six coaches and three trainers are identified and invited to a four day camp after the Team Alberta Challenge and Alberta Winter Games Through high intensity on and off-ice training, as well as classroom sessions, the athletes are given the opportunity to develop their skills within the game of hockey and as people. The U16 Program strives to create an environment where players, coaches, trainers and administrators can meet new friends, compete with their peers and approach levels of commitment and excellence that each has the potential to achieve.
This program is designed to feed the Under-18 Team Alberta that competes either at the Under-18 Women’s Hockey Challenge or the Canada Winter Games.
