NCCP DEVELOPMENT I LEVEL

Overview

Hockey Alberta implemented the NCCP Development I clinics in the 2004-2005 hockey season. The program curriculum and delivery was designed using the new Competency Based Education and Training model. The new curriculum and clinic is designed to give coaches plenty of opportunities to do and think for themselves through classroom theory and on-ice participation.

The NCCP Development I course is a two day clinic starting on Saturday morning and concluding late Sunday afternoon. Coaches attend a minimum of 13 hours of classroom and 3 hours of on-ice instruction and/or observation. A Pee Wee Rep team, or higher quality, will be needed in conjunction with the clinic to provide the coaches with the necessary tools for the weekend. The team is required for the first 75 minutes of the ice time. Coaches go on the ice for the remainder of the time.

Who Should Attend?

Anyone who is coaching Peewee AA, Bantam AA, AAA, Midget AA, Junior B hockey and below and Senior Hockey.

All coaches looking for a continuing education opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the game. The Development I clinic is targeted at those coaching in the competitive stream.
